Grito de arara
rasga o alto.
Vermelho e azul passam juntos
sob um céu ainda opaco
acima da água parada.
Ergo a lente à sobrancelha.
Plástico quente do sol
gruda por um instante
antes de escorregar de novo.
Um bando cruza
depois outro
e mais um por trás
sem pedir espaço ao dia.
Rabisco o número torto.
O papel bebe a umidade.
Uma pena desce rodando
encosta na corrente.
Algumas folhas seguem junto.
Depois o canal fica limpo.
O vazio demora
mais do que o barulho
para voltar.

Flocks
Translation · Bandos
Macaw cry
tears the high air.
Red and blue pass together
under a still opaque sky
above the still water.
I raise the lens to my eyebrow.
Plastic warm from the sun
sticks for an instant
before slipping again.
One flock crosses
then another
and one more behind
without asking the day for space.
I scribble the crooked number.
The paper drinks the humidity.
A feather descends spinning
touches the current.
Some leaves follow along.
Then the channel becomes clean.
The emptiness takes longer
than the noise
to return.
