Caiman still
on the other bank.

The eyes were already on me
before I saw the rest.

vanishes near the snout.
The tail drags a short drawing.
The mud closes over it.
The mouth opens a little

The water holds the reflection
longer than it should.
Then nothing changes.
Not the animal.
Not the sun.
Only the whole marsh
seems to fit inside an interval.
